About the artist: Soviet painter. People's Artist of R.. Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the first degree (1951). Professor, Department of Painting and Composition, St.P. Johanson with the title of artist of painting. Thesis - the painting "The entry of the Red Army into the liberated Novgorod." In 1946-1949 he studied at the graduate school of the institute. In 1950, for the painting "I. V. Stalin and K. E. Voroshilov on the Tsaritsyn Front in 1918 ”awarded the degree of candidate of art history. He writes genre and historical compositions, landscapes, portraits. Sokolov Vasily Vasilievich works are in the State R.
