The oil painting on canvas titled "Penguin Colony" captures a serene yet thought-provoking scene set in the vast, frozen landscape of Antarctica. A group of emperor penguins stands solemnly on the ice, their black-and-white forms contrasting sharply against the pristine white snow and the pale blue sky above. Their reflections in the still water create a sense of depth and symmetry, mirroring their presence in a softened, almost dreamlike way. Each penguin is depicted with great attention to detail, from the smooth texture of their feathers to the subtle color variations on their beaks and necks. The way they are positioned suggests a sense of community, yet also a quiet solemnity. Some appear to be observing their surroundings, while others seem lost in contemplation. Their rigid posture, characteristic of their species, adds a feeling of resilience in the face of the cold, harsh environment they inhabit. However, the scene carries an unexpected and unsettling element—a small piece of plastic waste, partially submerged in the icy water. This stark detail introduces a striking contrast to the otherwise pristine natural world. The presence of man-made pollution in such a remote and untouched location adds a deeper layer of meaning to the artwork, drawing attention to the environmental impact of human activity on fragile ecosystems. The plastic debris, reflected in the water along with the penguins, serves as a symbolic reminder that even the most distant corners of the planet are not immune to the consequences of pollution. The artist’s use of light and shadow plays a crucial role in evoking the cold atmosphere of the Antarctic. The soft illumination of the sky, diffused by the icy landscape, bathes the scene in a quiet, almost ethereal glow. The gentle gradation of blues and whites creates a sense of vastness, emphasizing the isolation of the penguins in their frozen world. The icy water, though still and reflective, hints at the ever-changing nature of the environment, where melting ice and shifting climates constantly reshape the landscape. Compositionally, the painting is balanced, with the penguins arranged in a loose, natural grouping that guides the viewer’s eye across the canvas. The reflection in the water not only enhances the visual harmony of the piece but also reinforces the idea of duality—nature and human impact, purity and contamination, survival and vulnerability.

So something happened, noticed, interested you and sits in you, with its emotions, feelings, its truth and philosophy.. no-no, it does not bother you, just sometimes, as if talking to you, tells your story, pulls your strings souls, and are forced to flee in search of something new, still unnoticed, and very, as it seems at this time, so necessary.. and not only you..
