About the artist: Soviet Ukrainian painter. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Honored Artist of Ukraine. Was born on November 26, 1926 in Odessa. Arkady Rusin is an Honored Artist of Ukraine and a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The work of Arkady Rusin occupies a significant place, and his name is widely known. The artist's paintings are kept in many museums in Ukraine, R., Moldova. More than thirty-five works are included in the collection of the Odessa Art Museum. Rusin is an artist-painter, muralist. He created a large number of canvases on a historical and patriotic theme, thematic paintings about our time, portraits, landscapes of beautiful corners of Ukraine and R., Georgia and Armenia, numerous still lifes with flowers and fruits. Since 1953 he has regularly participated in republican, all-union, foreign exhibitions. Arkady Viktorovich studied at the Odessa Art School. Grekov (1941-1947) under the guidance of famous Odessa artists-teachers Kanovekiy P.S., Bukovetskiy E.O. and Muchnik L.E. He graduated from the school with honors. In 1947 he entered the L. Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. I. E. Repin. He studied at the workshop of Professor R. Franz and received a diploma of an artist of battle painting. His graduation work was the painting "Suvorov in Izmail". After graduating from the institute, the artist leaves for Stalingrad (now Volgograd), where he begins his active creative work, participation in the artistic life of the local organization of the Union of Artists of the USSR, which he headed as chairman of the board, here he becomes a candidate member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. hometown, in 1958 the artist's active life position allowed him to organically enter the circle of Odessa artists. He begins his teaching career at the Odessa Art School, head of the Department of Fine Arts of the Art and Graphics Faculty of the Odessa State Pedagogical Institute. K. D. Ushinsky. For many years, Arkady Viktorovich has been combining creative work with pedagogical work, which continues today. The inhabitants of Ukraine, R., Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Italy, USA, Finland, France, Japan are familiar with his work. His personal exhibitions took place in Odessa in 1976, 1992, 1996, 2001. Paying tribute to his youth, the artist arranged a personal exhibition in Volgograd (Stalingrad) in 1979. But especially memorable for the artist is his first personal traveling exhibition, organized by the Odessa branch of the Union of Artists and the Odessa Art Museum in 1973, which passed through the cities and districts of the Odessa region. His name immediately became known to thousands of residents of the region. The exhibition featured over a hundred works, including his first significant works "Suvorov in Izmail", "Bohdan Khmelnitsky", "In the Don steppes", "Roads of Ukraine", numerous landscapes and still lifes. The collected collection of works in the Odessa Art Museum reflects all periods of the artist's work, including his early works, on which you can see drawings, sketches made during his student years, the streets of Odessa in the 1950s-60s, portraits of people close to him, luxurious clusters blooming chestnut trees, bright daisies and phloxes, simple but sweet-to-heart flowers of budyaks, burdocks - all this collection gives a vivid idea of ​​the skill and talent of the artist Arkady Viktorovich Rusin. The artist donated a number of works to the museum. Rusin is a labor veteran, participant of the Great Patriotic War. In 2006, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine, he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine. Participated in exhibitions in Ukraine and R., Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Italy, USA, Finland, France, Yugoslavia, Japan. Works are in a number of museum collections and private collections in many countries of the world.
