Tatiana Nikolaevna Golembievskaya (1936–2018) is a world-famous Ukrainian painter whose works have been presented at leading international auctions and are admired by collectors for their vibrant landscapes, genre scenes, and masterful still lifes. Her paintings combine lyrical realism with poetic elegance, capturing both the spirit of everyday life and the grandeur of nature.

Golembievskaya’s art is distinguished by harmonious color, delicate brushwork, and a refined sense of composition. She often created narrative compositions with idealized motifs from Ukrainian life—harvests, rural scenes, floral still lifes—imbued with a sense of mood, memory, and visual lyricism. Her portraits and landscapes frequently evoke nostalgia and beauty, making her works highly desirable for museums and private collections alike.

Born on November 7, 1936 in Kyiv into a family of artists, she graduated from the Kyiv State Art Institute in 1962, where her teachers included V. Kostetsky, K. Trokhimenko, S. Grigoriev, and I. Shtilman. After graduation, she studied at the Creative Workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Kyiv until 1965. She has been a member of the National Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1962.

In her career, Golembievskaya held teaching positions at the Kyiv State Art Institute beginning in 1968, and from 1984 served as a professor. Among her distinctions, she received the title Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR in 1966, became a People’s Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1986, and in 1988 was made a corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Arts. She directed the creative workshops of the Academy in Kyiv from 1989 to 1991 and later mentored postgraduate students of easel painting at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.

Her works are held in museums and private collections in Ukraine, the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan and other countries. Regularly presented at international auction houses, Golembievskaya’s paintings remain in demand for their artistic excellence, cultural significance, and timeless lyrical beauty.
