Viktor Grigorievich Sevastyanov (1923–1993) is a world-famous Ukrainian painter whose works have been presented at leading international auctions and remain highly valued by collectors. His art is admired for its lyrical landscapes, expressive portraits, and scenes of everyday life that reflect both the beauty of Ukraine and the spirit of his time.

Sevastyanov’s paintings are celebrated for their harmony of color, atmospheric depth, and emotional sincerity. Working within the traditions of realism, he infused his canvases with a distinctive lyricism that gave them a timeless artistic appeal. His depictions of Ukrainian villages, urban streets, and intimate domestic settings are notable for their warmth and authenticity.

Born on July 1, 1923 in Odesa, Sevastyanov studied at the Odesa Art Institute after World War II, where he refined his artistic technique. From 1945 to 1947 he played for the Pishchevik football team (Odesa); from 1947 to 1952 he was a player for Dynamo Kyiv; and from 1952 to 1953 he served as captain of the KVO team. In 1953 he left football and devoted himself entirely to painting. Two years later, in 1955, he joined the Kyiv Association of Artists, and in 1963 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. From the mid-1950s onward, he regularly participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions, gaining recognition for his distinctive style and technical mastery.

His works are preserved in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, regional museums, and numerous private collections in Europe and North America. Regularly presented at international auction houses, Sevastyanov’s paintings remain in strong demand for their artistic quality, cultural value, and enduring emotional resonance.
