Who Was Mykhailo Boichuk?

Mykhailo Boichuk was a seminal Ukrainian artist of the early 20th century and the founder of the “Boichukist” school. His work is instantly recognizable, blending Byzantine art, icon painting, modernism, and folk traditions. Boichuk sought to create a new form of monumental art—popular in spirit, simple in form, and profound in meaning.
