Konstantin Matveevich Lomykin (1924–1993) is a world-famous Ukrainian painter whose works have been presented at leading international auctions and are admired by collectors for their lyrical depth and expressive power. His art is celebrated for its vivid urban landscapes, genre scenes, and portraits, which capture both the vitality of Odesa and the broader cultural spirit of Ukraine.

Lomykin’s paintings are distinguished by their strong sense of color, confident brushwork, and ability to unite realism with emotional resonance. Whether depicting the bustling streets of Odesa, the quiet dignity of everyday life, or poetic portraits, his canvases radiate sincerity and artistic mastery, making them highly desirable for museums and private collections alike.

Born on August 19, 1924 in Hlukhiv (Sumy region), Lomykin studied at the Odesa Art College, graduating in 1951 under L. Muchnik, N. Pavlyuk, and N. Shelyuto. From 1951 he actively participated in exhibitions and soon gained recognition as one of the leading Odesa painters of his generation. In 1971 he was awarded the title Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR, and in 1984 he became a People’s Artist of Ukraine, affirming his place among the cultural elite.

His works are held in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Odesa Art Museum, and numerous regional and private collections worldwide. Regularly presented at international auction houses, Lomykin’s paintings remain in high demand, appreciated for their artistic brilliance, historical importance, and enduring emotional appeal. He passed away on July 9, 1993 in Odesa.
