oil-painting-the-road-home-oksana-ivanyuk
Oil painting The Road Home Oksana Ivanyuk

№AAA3840

This oil painting cardboard, titled "The Road Home", the composition leads the viewer’s eye along a winding dirt path that meanders through a sunlit meadow and disappears into a dense, verdant forest in the background. A small group of figures, painted in red and dark hues, can be seen walking along the road, adding a human element to the peaceful scenery. Their presence enhances the narrative, suggesting a journey—perhaps returning home after a long day. On the right side of the painting, a cluster of rustic wooden houses with warm orange rooftops nestles among the trees, creating a focal point that symbolizes comfort and familiarity. The structures contrast beautifully with the deep greens of the surrounding forest, reinforcing the theme of home and belonging. The foreground is dominated by vibrant grass, painted in thick, energetic strokes of lime green, yellow, and hints of blue. The impasto technique gives the impression of wild, untamed nature, full of life and movement. Shadows and highlights play across the meadow, suggesting the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the shaded areas. Above, the sky is a brilliant blue, dotted with soft pink clouds, adding an element of dreamlike beauty. The choice of pink for the clouds is unexpected yet harmonizes perfectly with the overall color scheme, making the sky feel alive and expressive. The artist’s use of bold, saturated colors enhances the painting’s joyful and uplifting mood. The dominant greens and yellows capture the vibrancy of a summer or late spring day, while the earthy tones of the houses and road ground the composition. The bright splashes of red and orange in the clothing of the figures and rooftops provide a striking contrast, drawing the viewer’s attention to key elements within the scene. The interplay of light and shadow, combined with the vivid color choices, creates a sense of warmth and movement. The painting feels alive, as if the breeze is gently rustling the grass and the sunlight is filtering through the trees. Despite the abstraction, the artist skillfully captures depth and perspective. The receding path and diminishing scale of the trees and houses guide the viewer’s eye into the distance, creating a sense of space and immersion.

*** ABOUT THIS PAINTING ***
* TITLE: "The Road Home"
* ARTISTS: Oksana Ivanyuk
* SIZE: 15x20 cm/'5.90x7.87 inches'
* MEDIUM: oil, cardboard
* HAND PAINTED: Original painting from our collection
* CONDITION: we tried to convey the maximum information with the help of photos about this product

About the artists: Ivanyuk Oksana was born in 1964 in Rivne region.
